International Student Process

Trillium College’s online classrooms and training locations provide our international students with a culturally diverse student body and faculty. Trillium College is an authorized Designated Learning Institution (DLI), meaning the college is approved by the province of Ontario to enroll international students.

The college’s DLI number is O19532727322.

Although international students are welcome at many career colleges in Ontario it should be noted that Career Colleges are unable to issue post-graduate work permits. If you are looking to secure a post-graduate work permit, you should consider a publicly funded college.

How to study at Trillium College as an International Student

It’s not complicated. Trillium College’s team of Career Coaches and Student Financial Planners are here to help our International Applicants through each step of the process:

  1. Trillium College’s programs are outlined on the website at:

You might know what you want to do, or you might need some guidance. Either way, the next step is to meet with a Career Coach and a Student Financial Planner at an Information Session.

  1. Fill out the form on this page to be contacted by a Career Coach. A Career Coach is your guide through the process of changing your life and becoming successful in a new career.
  1. You will meet with a Career Coach who will walk you through your program of interest as well as go over the entrance requirements for international students.
    • You must be 18 years old to apply for a study permit in Canada.
    • English proficiency is required, an exemption can be made if you are coming to Canada from an English-speaking country.
    • An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Equivalent is an entrance requirement for each of our programs. Personal Support Worker also requires a grade 12 English credit (see below for more details on entrance requirements).
  2. Once all the entrance requirements have been met, the next step is to demonstrate financial security by setting up your payment plan. Your Student Financial Planner will provide the details to you during the Information Session. All international students are required to pay a 25% deposit on the full program cost. This deposit includes a $500.00 non-refundable application fee.
  3. Once the college has received your payment, your Letter of Acceptance will be issued to you. You will need this to apply for your study visa. Trillium College requires a copy of your student visa to be included in your student file.
