Intra Oral Dental Assisting I & II Program Summary

Trillium College’s Intra Oral Dental Assisting Diploma program is a dental program that gives you the theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed to work competently, effectively and safely as a dental assistant. Our curriculum provides training for the Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) certificate and is also approved and recognized by the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB). A dental assistant placement while attending our dental program helps you hone your dental assisting skills for entry into the workforce, and as a graduate of this dental program, you will be eligible to write the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) examination.

  In conjunction with the in-class dental program components, you will gain valuable professional experience working in a clinical setting in our dental college clinic. Our dental college clinic locations are open to the public and supervised by qualified Level II dental assistant clinical instructors.

Employment Opportunities

As a graduate of Trillium College’s dental program, you may find employment in a range of dental assisting settings, working alongside a dentist and/or dental hygienist. Opportunities including general dentistry, community dentistry, specialty dentistry and dental sales.

Salary: According to jobbank.gc.ca an average dental salary for a dental assistant is $22.00 per hour (NOC 3411).

Admission Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, or mature student status (18 years of age)
  • Current immunization record
  • Submission of a clear Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) report with Vulnerable Sector Screening

Intra Oral Dental Assisting Level I & II Program Details

Our Intra Oral Dental Assisting dental program is one of the most in-depth dental assistant programs offered. This dental program offers a diverse knowledge base and current practical experience. Students will work as part of a professional team, alongside the dentist in their field placement. Students will learn a variety of skills throughout this dental program, including dental office procedures, basic computer applications, bookkeeping, appointment scheduling and intra-oral procedures. The curriculum of our dental assisting program is H.A.R.P. (Healing Arts Radiation Protection) qualified, and approved by the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB). Graduates of this program are eligible to write the National Dental Assisting Examination Board NDAEB examination. (Exam dates are currently offered four times a year.)
