Personal Support Worker
Diploma Program (22 Weeks)
Program Summary
The Personal Support Worker program was developed as part of the Ontario Government’s initiative to reform community support services. This relief is provided to people in long-term care facilities, group homes, and others living at home in the community. Replacing and consolidating Health Care Aide and Home Support Worker (Levels I, II and III), the Personal Support Worker program standardizes training and provides a solid educational base for workers who provide long-term care and support services in both institutional and community settings.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Personal Support Worker program may look for employment in a number of areas including long-term care facilities, hospitals, home care agencies, group homes, respite and palliative care centers. Graduates will be especially prepared to work with special needs children and senior citizens.
