Accounting and Payroll Administration Program SummaryThe Accounting and Payroll Administration (APA) program at Trillium College provides hands-on training with a strong focus on accounting principles and practices in both manual and computerized accounting systems; payroll compliance for jurisdictions in Canada; related technology applications and customer service skills. Graduates will gain the skills imperative in today's workplace. Upon successful completion of the accounting and payroll program and after receiving their accounting diploma, graduates have the opportunity to receive the nationally recognized Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification issued by the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). The CPA offers the only payroll certifications in Canada: the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM). Employment OpportunitiesApplications to accounting schools are still at a high number, as there is an increasing demand for skilled and confident people to work in the accounting and/or payroll field. Graduates of the Accounting and Payroll Administration program work in a broad range of employment settings in all sectors of business, including banks as well as other financial institutions, governments and agencies, public accounting firms, small businesses, tax preparation firms and financial planning firms.
